Iceberg Alley is a stretch of Northeast Canadian coastline from the NE coast of Labrador down the NE coast of Newfoundland, and it is the course taken by the famous 1912 iceberg that sunk the Titanic. Most of these Icebergs break off of the Greenland Ice Shelf, but some come out of Arctic Canada.
I chose Fogo Island and Twillingate Island as the first viewing stop on my 2025 Iceberg Tour because if you study the maps the two islands seem strategically located, and they look like they might suck Icebergs into their labyrinth of islands and sounds, and so entice them to stay for awhile. Twillingate bills itself as the “iceberg capital of the world.”
