- House Joint Resolution 494 has been introduced which would establish the right of the State of North Carolina to declare an official state religion.
- Hydraulic fracturing ("Fracking") is, for the most part, not regulated at the Federal level (according to Food & Water Watch), and is completely exempt from the Safe Drinking Water Act.
- Married persons in our country are entitled to benefits, by law, to which single persons are not.
- The "Healthy Marriage Act" just introduced in the North Carolina Senate extends the mandatory waiting period for divorce to two years, and requires that the couple take approved courses on communications and conflict resolution.
- Also in the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, House Bill 683 was introduced recently stipulating that local governments may not limit the size of soft drinks offered for sale.
